Partial and Full Automation for Warehouse Storage

Euroroll co-designed a semi-automated warehouse solution for one of Germany’s largest confectionery companies: a combination of inclined roller conveyors, driven rollers, and automatic loading. The long, gravity-driven conveyors serve as intermediate storage (buffer solution), with a lifter automatically loading them with pallets. At the end of the floor-level conveyors, there is a separator so the operator can remove a pallet without the following pallet rolling in and exerting back pressure. The conveyors are suitable for hand pallet truck removal and are designed for pallets that cover a wide weight range – 80 to 1000 kg. A transverse transfer carriage automatically loads the picking aisles.

Employee Safety with Pallet Rack Automation

For the safety of the picking employees, the pallets are also kept free of back pressure by a manual separator. After completing the picking of a pallet, the operator activates the release, and the next full pallet follows. To ensure occupational safety, access guards were integrated between the channels in accordance with DIN EN 619.
